Review: Tempe-Based Kettle Heroes Candy Cane Kettle Corn

I recently saw the Kettle Heroes Candy Cane Kettle Corn at the store and there was no way I was not about to pick it up.  I wish I had known about this Tempe-based company founded by two brothers in 2013 sooner because I would have been munching on their popcorn for the entire Christmas season.  The Candy Cane Kettle Corn has the absolute perfect amount of crunch, sweetness, and saltiness.  This is one of those snacks where your better judgement has to kick in otherwise the whole bag is gone in one sitting.  According to their site, they grind up actual candy canes as part of the 5 total ingredients used in the process and even better, this non-GMO popcorn is made of 100% whole grain and is gluten, dairy, nut, cholesterol, and trans-fats free along with being kosher and vegan.

One of the cool things about their products is the donation to charity from each purchase.  For instance, on my bag it mentions that 20% of the proceeds go to the Pat Tillman Foundation.  The Pat Tillman Foundation scores nearly 90 out of 100 and is a very worthy cause dedicated to investing in, "military veterans and their spouses through academic scholarships – building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others."

Check out the Kettle Heroes website for more information on additional flavors like Prickly Pear Kettle Corn as well as some of the work they do for weddings. You can find Kettle Heroes Kettle Corn in a store near you using their store locator and they also ship nationwide.
