Dairy Queen February Blizzard OTM: Royal Ultimate Choco Brownie

Dairy Queen is out with their February Blizzard of the Month and it is filled with all kinds of chocolate.  DQ describes it this way:
Indulge your sweet tooth with this dreamy combination of world-famous vanilla soft serve blended with decadent brownie pieces, choco chunks, and heavenly cocoa fudge. Careful, you might fall in love.

Cool Gelato Italiano Now Open in Scottsdale

Earlier this week, Alberto della Casa and Letizia de Lucia, a married couple who have worked in the food industry in both Italy and the U.S. for a combined 35 years, opened Cool Gelato Italiano at 7373 E. Scottsdale Mall #125, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.  According to the press release:
Cool will feature 20 distinct flavors designed by Alberto and Letizia in collaboration with Italy’s champion gelato artisan recognized by the Italian Academy of Gelato. Cool will also highlight authentic sorbet made with fresh fruits, gelato sandwiches, gelato affogato and more.
Additionally, Cool is aiming to be as fresh and all natural as possible:
Cool’s gelato is made fresh daily onsite. The gelato is produced in small quantities and because of its freshness requires no preservatives. No artificial colors or chemical additives are used.
Cool Gelato Italiano has indoor and outdoor seating and is open Sunday - Thursday from 11am to 11pm and 10am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Panda Express Debuts New Peppercorn Shrimp, Free Offer to Follow

Starting today, you'll be able to walk into Panda Express and order their new Peppercorn Shrimp, which is described as:
Made with plump, marinated shrimp, tender asparagus, chopped yellow onions and sweet red bell peppers tossed in a sizzling wok with a signature sauce made from bold, Thai green peppercorns and Asian spices.
Also, on Wednesday, February 22, the press release mentions that Panda Express fans on Facebook will be able to use a coupon to try the Peppercorn Shrimp for free:
To celebrate its grand entrance, Panda Express will offer a free entrée serving of the Peppercorn Shrimp dish to Facebook fans on Feb. 22, which is also the first day of Lent. Guests who "like" Panda Express on Facebook can download the free entrée coupon, which will be available on Feb. 15. 
That said, if you are not on Facebook or if you just want the coupon, it is also available on the Panda Express website.

New Mesa Restaurant to Serve Hot Dogs, Bratwurst, & More

Opening at 10am this Friday, February 17, Fritz's Footlong is taking over the former location of Smokey's Bar & Grill at 1734 E. Main St. #5 Mesa, AZ 85203.  Fritz's will be serving Johnsonville bratwurst, all beef Sabrett hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, soda, beer, and according to their Facebook page, will have over 20 toppings to choose from.

Please note, as you can see from the photo to the right, Fritz's is open from 10am to 10pm daily and does not accept credit cards or debit cards, they are cash only.

Free Onion Rings at Burger King This Weekend

This Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5, Burger King's around the country will be giving out free value sized orders of their "new signature" onion rings with no purchase necessary.  This offer will begin at lunchtime so do not expect to pick up a free order of onion rings for breakfast.  If you are wondering why this somehow sounds familiar, it's probably because it was just this past December when Burger King was giving out free fries as part of their new recipe roll out

In terms of nutrition, the value sized onion rings come in at 150 calories, 8 grams of fat and 1 gram of protein.

Dairy Queen's February Blizzard of the Month - Choco Cherry Love

To start off the year, Dairy Queen pushed their Strawberry CheeseQuake Blizzard, for February however, just in time for Valentine's Day, DQ is making the Choco Cherry Love Blizzard the Blizzard of the Month.  The Choco Cherry Love Blizzard is made of "Sweet cherries lovingly blended with rich choco chunks and creamy vanilla soft serve."

If terms of nutrition, a medium size Choco Cherry Love Blizzard has 650 calories, 24 grams of fat, 14 grams of protein and 80 grams of sugar.

Subway's February $5 Featured Footlong - Any Regular Footlong

Subway is at it again saying February is "Februany."  Any regular footlong is $5 for the month.  While a more cynical person would point out that this is the shortest month of the year, to be fair, Subway did this same promotion back in October.  Excluded from the promotion are all premium subs and double meat.

Texas-Based Sushi Restaurant to Hit Phoenix & Tucson

How Do You Roll? The Custom Sushi Shop will be opening in Phoenix at 1515 N. 7th Ave. #100 Phoenix, AZ 85003 followed one week later by their opening in Tucson at 914 E. Speedway Blvd. #110 Tucson, AZ 85719 in mid-February.  You can view the menu of the sushi shop here, but the press release offers some information as well:
How Do You Roll? offers a modern twist to the traditional Japanese cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant, consumers follow a line and build their own sushi rolls with many unique ingredient choices. Newcomers to sushi, and those who shy away from raw fish, will be surprised to find grilled chicken and beef, whereas sushi aficionados can enjoy more typical-to-sushi options like spicy tuna and unagi. How Do You Roll? also offers gluten-free and vegetarian ingredients.
