Kate Upton Helps Carl's Jr. Sell Their New Southwest Patty Melt

Just out this week, Carl's Jr. has begun offering their newest menu item, the Southwest Patty Melt.  The Southwest Patty Melt is now available at all Carl's Jr. and Hardee's locations and includes "a charbroiled beef patty, with sliced jalapeños, grilled onions, pepper-Jack cheese, and spicy Santa Fe sauce, all on grilled sourdough bread."

Additionally, following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Padma Lakshmi, Kate Upton is the newest pop-culture beauty to help the chain market their products. 

Glenn Cole, founding partner of the new creative agency by CKE Enterprises, owners of over 3200 Carl's Jr. and Hardee's locations, summed up their brand marketing this way, "While our competitors try to out-kid-meal each other, we're going to keep making noise and delivering young hungry guys what they want."

Schlotzsky's 40th Anniversary: $1.99 Small Original (10/4)

Tomorrow, October 4, Schlotzsky's will be celebrating their 40th anniversary by offering customers a small Original sandwich for $1.99. If you've never had one, the original comes with:

Lean smoked ham, Genoa and cotto salamis, and melted cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses layered with black olives, red onion, lettuce, tomato, mustard and our signature dressing on toasted Sourdough bread. (Contains milk, eggs, soybeans and wheat.)

The small Original comes in at 560 calories, 26 grams of fat and 28 grams of protein. Check the Schlotzsky's location page to see which of the 14 restaurants in the state is closest to you.

Schlotzsky's Brings Back 3 Favorites

From now until November 27, Schlotzsky's will be bringing back three sandwiches as part of their Angus Round Up line. According to Schlotzsky's, the Chipotle Guaca-Beefsky, the French Dipsky and the Bacon Beefy Smoke Cheezy have been favorites in the past and that's why this will be their third time on the menu. The ingredients and nutrition are as follows:

• Chipotle Guaca-Beefsky - Shaved Angus roast beef, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion, with Chipotle pesto and guacamole on a toasted jalapeño cheese bun. Small size: 697 calories, 35 grams of fat, 42 grams of protein.

• French Dipsky - Shaved Angus roast beef and melted mozzarella cheese on a toasted Sourdough bun, served with au jus dipping sauce. Small size: 552 calories, 22 grams of fat, 39 grams of protein.

• Bacon Beefy Smoke Cheezy - Shaved Angus roast beef, smoked cheddar cheese, bacon and Chipotle mayo on a toasted Sourdough bun. Small size: 758 calories, 42 grams of fat, 47 grams of protein.

New Bread, New Subs at Blimpie

Blimpie is rather quietly at this point, introducing a new Artisan Sourdough bread available with any sub on the menu. They have also rolled out two new sandwiches, pictured to the right, to go with the sourdough bread. The Western BBQ Chicken & Bacon Sub and the Peppered Ham & Cheese Melt.
